The Debate X-Factor: Hofstra's Got It

Hofstra University was mentioned in a New York Times article about the colleges hosting the 2012 Presidential Debate. 

The article had some great information about the numbers during the 2008 Presidential Debate between Barack Obama and John McCain.

$3.5 million: Approximate cost to Hofstra University
300: Approximate number of tickets given to university, all distributed to students.
6,911: Number of students who entered the ticket lottery. Only registered voters were eligible to enter.
500: Percentage increase in print, Web and broadcast mentions of Hofstra.
Wow those are some impressive numbers! I wonder what 2012 will entail...
